Dear Old Forge Community,

As I begin my second year as Principal of Old Forge Junior/Senior High School, I want to take a moment to reflect, celebrate, and refocus. Last year was truly a year of progress, a year where confidence did breed success, and where the hard work of our students, staff, and families led to significant academic growth. I’m proud to share that we saw measurable gains in our PSSA and Keystone scores, signaling a rising tide of achievement and momentum here in Old Forge.

These successes aren’t by accident. They are the result of a community that believes in its students, staff who never give up, and learners who are starting to see what they are capable of when they commit to a purpose. It has been inspiring to watch our students take ownership of their learning and continue to believe that they are capable.

This year, we are building on that foundation with a bold new motto:

Average is Officially Over!

This isn’t just a slogan, it’s a mindset. It means we no longer accept mediocrity, or complacency. Whether in the classroom, on the stage, or on the field, we are committed to setting higher standards and helping every student realize that above average is within their reach. Our expectations are rising, because our belief in our students has never been stronger.

Personally, this past year has only deepened my gratitude for the opportunity to serve this district. I’ve learned so much about the Old Forge way. The pride and the power of tradition. From pep rallies to academic celebrations, from community service to quiet moments of support, I’ve seen firsthand how this community comes together. We say it proudly: This is Old Forge. Tradition and Excellence lives here. 

To the students: your potential is limitless, and we are here to help you unlock it. To the families: your partnership is invaluable. Teamwork makes the dream work! To the faculty and staff: thank you for believing in our kids, even when they might not yet believe in themselves.

Let’s make this a year of elevated effort and continued progress. Let’s live our new motto every day, because in Old Forge, Average is Officially Over!
